Sarah of Sacramento

Sarah Gomes

Everyone, meet Sarah! She’s our ambassador based in the Sacramento region of northern California. Sarah interacts with customers while giving away samples of our yogurts–so be careful: her enthusiasm just might infect your own.

Q. How did you find your way to Smári Organics?
I found it through an old coworker.

Q. What’s your job?
I’m Brand Ambassador in the Sacramento, California region.

Q. What’s your favorite Smári flavor? Why?
Is it possible to pick just one?  Hmm. I suppose it would be Pure, because I can do anything with it!

Q. Are you a cat or dog person?
Dog.  Actually, I’m really a turtle person! I’ve had my 3-legged turtle, named Shoelaces, since I was in college.

Q. What’s your favorite novel?
Most recently my favorite is The Help.

Q. Favorite movie?
Every year, I can’t wait for the holiday season to start so I can watch “Elf” with Will Farrell.

Q. First car?
An old, boxy brown Volvo.

Q. Describe the best meal you’ve ever cooked.
I am a longtime vegetarian, but my husband and daughter are total carnivoures!  For me, I love making stir fry with whatever veggies are in season. Or any kind of Mexican food.

Q. Where do you most want to travel to?
I’ve been to Australia, and I want to go back so bad!

Q. Can you recite any great quotes by heart? (Movie lines are fair game!)
“Smiling is my favorite,” from “Elf.”

Q. What makes you laugh?
My daughter! I love watching her learn how to be a little person, she has so much personality.

Q. What song is in your head right now?
It’s a Lorde song, but I can’t remember the title.

Q. If you were an inanimate object, what would you be?
A child’s beloved blanket or stuffed animal. Those give so much joy, love, and security to kids as they grow up.

Q. What article of clothing (or accessory) of yours will never, EVER make it to Goodwill?
My collection of flip flops.  I love them, I wear them year round, even in winter.

Q. If you could name three songs in the soundtrack of your life, what would they be? (Think childhood, middle, now.)
Sublime and Bob Marley were my favorites during my high school years. In college, I moved on to hip hop (such as the Pharcyde or Talib Kweli). Nowadays, what I listen to totally depends on my mood, so it could be…anything!

Q. What word do you hate?
I strongly dislike when people refer to Native Americans as ‘Indians.’ It bugs me–they are two totally different groups of people!

Q. What’s your favorite on-screen romance?
I’m not a huge romantic. I do love the relationship between Sheldon and Amy on the television show, “Big Bang Theory.”

Q. Tell me about your first most joyful memory.
Probably traveling to Australia by myself when I was in college.  It was pretty much totally amazing.

Q. What guilty pleasure food do you love with absolutely no apologies?
Chocolate and coffee (though not necessarily together.  Although that would be good too.)

Q. Sweet or savory?
Sweet.

Q. Chocolate or cheese?
Chocolate. No question.

Q. Would you rather be a hawk or a shark?
Probably a shark, that is:  a tame reef shark that swims around the reef with tropical fish, turtles, and isn’t aggressive towards humans.

Q. If your “personal hell” involved a single song on repeat, what would be playing?
That “Moves Like Jagger” song! (This one, from Maroon 5.)

Q. What mantra rings true to you every day?
“You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.”

Q. If you were riding your bike and you slammed into a parked car, would you get up and laugh or hope no one saw it? (Let’s stay positive here and assume you CAN get up. Think Wayne’s World.)
Oh, I would laugh it up, and make fun of myself before anyone else could!

Q. People have told you you remind them of who/what?
I’m never told that I look like anyone! Apparently, I’m one of a kind. :-)
