3 Workout Playlists From a Fitness Pro

Besides the feel-good vibes music brings to our everyday lives, science shows that music distraction during exercise has a very real and positive influence on our physical performance. All the precise reasons why music impacts the body during exercise are just being discovered, but there’s no doubt a strong link exists between music and enhanced athletic performance.


To add some music reinforcement during this final stretch into summer, we asked our fitness blogger, Kelly Saunders, to share her favorite songs for working out. Take a few minutes and check out Kelly’s favorite body-moving workout tunes. You may find a few new tracks to freshen up your own go-to playlists!

 

 

 

 

I love music, and I especially love moving to music. So when I’m putting together a playlist for my workouts, I choose the songs wisely. The songs need to be ones I enjoy listening to, but they also need to be upbeat enough to carry me through my workout. Some will be light and happy, others will have an edgy pounding beat.

 

Right now I am in love with Ed Sheeran’s newest album. Every song is a winner. I could just about listen to that album alone and have a good workout. It’s that catchy and good. Listen to it, I think you’ll agree!

 

On my iPod at any given time I keep two or three go-to playlists that I absolutely love. I’m sharing them with you here in the hopes you’ll love them too!

 

 

Playlist #1: Oldies but Goodies

Playlist #2: Upbeat Mix

 

This next one has more current tunes. Still upbeat, with a mix of artists and styles. This playlist starts out with one of my new favorite songs. Watch the video of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban lip syncing this one. They are the CUTEST couple ever. Playlist #3: A Little More Rock
